Long-Form Content

I happen to be a very good writer. At every agency I’ve ever worked for, I’ve been ensnared in the trap, “If Lisa can write X, then she must be able to write Y and Z!” Meaning: just because you can write a great headline doesn’t mean you can write an article. But I can write both, and I’ve been happy to use my talents to help advance health equity and write about other meaningful topics.

For two years, I ran the SensisHealth blog, where I wrote/ghostwrote thought-leadership pieces on topics that are relevant to healthcare marketers, including this piece on the amputation epidemic that’s a result of systematic bias in care delivery, the promise and power of non-hormonal birth control, and creating an effective PSA when there’s very little science to guide you.

I also wrote long-form for Sensis clients that included AltaMed, the largest FQHC in the nation. I created 500 - 800-word blog posts that were relevant to AltaMed members, evidence-based but still interesting enough to pique their interests and engagement in managing their own health. Some of the best-performing posts included this one on scammy-weight loss teas, a post about the impact of loneliness on mental health, an article on the very real link between food and mood, and a diabetes myth-busting post.
